  • Tips to Enjoy Your Best for Many Years - Merino Wool Vest Care Instructions

To ensure the longevity and quality of your merino wool vest, please follow these care instructions carefully:

    1. Washing

    • Wash on a gentle wool program at 30°C (86°F).
    • Use only enzyme-free wool detergent to protect the natural fibers.
    • Avoid washing frequently; merino wool is self-cleaning and does not require regular washing.

    2. Spot Cleaning

    • If a stain occurs, try cleaning the affected area locally using a damp sponge or cloth.
    • For dirt or mud, allow it to dry completely, then gently brush or swipe it off.

    3. Drying

    • Do NOT tumble dry.
    • While the vest is still wet, reshape it gently by hand.
    • Always dry flat to maintain its original shape.

    4. Airing Instead of Washing

    • To freshen up the vest, simply hang it out to air. Merino wool naturally neutralizes odors.

    5. Brushing

    • Over time, natural wool fibers can become matted or stuck together. To restore the vest’s luxurious fluffy appearance, brush it gently with a wild pig or horse hair brush. This process helps freshen up the wool and revives its original fluffy texture.

    6. Ironing

    • If necessary, iron inside out on a very low heat setting.

    7. Dry Cleaning

    • If opting for dry cleaning, ensure that no Trichloroethylene is used.

    Natural Benefits of Merino Wool
This vest is made from premium natural merino sheep wool, which is more durable and retains its shape better than ordinary wool. Its self-cleaning properties mean it requires less maintenance, making it perfect for sustainable and long-term use.

As a personal note: I've had the same merino wool vest for my son for over four years and haven’t needed to wash it once!

By following these simple instructions, your merino wool vest will stay beautiful, comfortable, and functional for years to come.

  • Merino Wool from Happy Freelands Sheep to Happy Customers - A Gift from Nature

At Fårever Uld, we believe that true quality begins at the source. That’s why every vest we create starts with the happiest sheep in Europe. Our Merino sheep, known for producing the finest quality wool, roam freely in the lush, open landscapes of Europe’s mountains and farmlands. They spend most of the year enjoying the fresh air and natural beauty that surrounds them. When winter’s chill becomes too harsh, they are lovingly brought into cozy shelters to ensure their comfort and wellbeing. And as spring approaches, these sheep are joyfully released back into nature, continuing their cycle of freedom and care.

The wool we use is carefully sheared when the warmer months arrive. Merino wool is exceptional; it is softer, stronger, and more durable than typical wool, while also holding its shape over time. Its natural temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties make it perfect for year-round comfort.

Once the wool is gathered, it is taken to a local European facility where it is gently processed under strict EU regulations. This facility creates high-quality wool rolls, which our skilled artisans can buy. These talented makers from small family-run businesses cut and sew each Fårever Uld vest by hand, infusing their craftsmanship with care and dedication.

Even the smaller details of our vests are locally sourced with eco-consciousness in mind. The labels, made of sustainable cotton, are printed in Europe at a small, family-owned business located just 300 km from where the vests are crafted. Every step of the process reflects our commitment to sustainability and responsible production.

When you wear a Fårever Uld vest, you’re not only enjoying a product of quality and timeless design—you’re making a choice for a better planet. By supporting local farmers, artisans, and businesses, and choosing products made with respect for animals and the environment, you can feel good about your fashion choices for years to come.

Thank you for choosing eco-conscious fashion with Fårever Uld.
